Quick answer: Artwork Files for Custom Promotional Products: Buyer Guide should be evaluated against vector artwork, finished dimensions, colour references, front/back layout and attachment details. For a bulk order, the practical next step is a brief that lets a supplier evaluate production before quoting.
What buyers should decide first
Start with the end use. Define who will receive the custom promotional products, how it will be handled or displayed, and what must be recognisable at the finished size. Then document the design, dimensions, quantity, attachment or backing, packaging and delivery destination. This turns a broad idea into a quote-ready brief.
A reliable comparison is based on the same specification. A lower unit price can represent a different construction, finish, accessory, packing assumption or delivery basis. Ask each supplier to state what is included and what still needs approval.
Specification checklist for a quote and sample
- Artwork and layout: supply editable artwork when available, plus front/back views and colour references.
- Finished construction: confirm dimensions, material, relief or stitch detail, edge treatment and attachment/backing.
- Order scope: state quantity, individual packing, outer-carton requirements, destination and required delivery date.
- Approval point: review digital artwork and confirm any physical sample before bulk production begins.
How to compare options without losing the detail
Use the product brief as the comparison sheet. Check whether every option meets the same visual, functional and packing requirement. If the design includes small text, fine lines or multiple colours, request a production review before treating the artwork as final. For branded programmes, keep an approved version of the specification so repeat orders remain consistent.
Questions to ask before placing a bulk order
Do I need vector artwork?
Vector AI, PDF, EPS or SVG files are preferred; a high-resolution PNG or JPG can still help start a review.
What should be approved before production?
Approve the artwork proof, finished specification, attachment or backing, packing and production schedule. If the project needs a physical reference, agree the sample route and acceptance standard before the bulk order.
How can I reduce quotation revisions?
Send the complete brief in one request: artwork, finished size, quantity, finish, packing and destination. Clear inputs make it easier to compare options and identify open decisions early.
