Choose the logo treatment around the artwork
Engraved text, raised or recessed details and coloured enamel-style areas produce different effects. Share the actual logo and finished dimensions so the available process can be reviewed. Fine text and narrow gaps may need an artwork adjustment at a small size.
Ask what material and logo process the quotation includes. Do not assume every finish or decoration shown in a reference image is included in the base price.
Confirm front, back and surface finish
Show both sides of the keychain, including any plain reverse, additional logo or text. Use a finish reference to communicate the intended appearance and ask for a physical sample when colour or texture is important.
Statements such as “permanent” or “will never wear” should not replace a specification. Discuss the intended use and any testing or inspection requirements before confirming the order.
Include hardware and individual packing
List the ring, chain, clasp or connector and its position. For retail merchandise, include the backing card, bag or gift box in the quote request. Check the assembled item in the sample, not only the decorated metal part.
Ask whether assembly and packing are included in the unit price. If several quantities are quoted, keep the same hardware and presentation for a meaningful comparison.
What affects the quotation
Dimensions, design complexity, material, surface finish, decoration, hardware, quantity and packaging can change the price. Ask for setup or sample charges and shipping to be shown separately. A reference photo alone is rarely enough for a final quote.
For repeat orders, confirm tooling storage, ownership, maintenance and any reuse charges in writing. Terms from a previous project should not be assumed to apply to a different design.
Sample and order checklist
Check spelling, logo depth or colour areas and the reverse layout.
Compare the finish with the approved reference.
Review edges, attachment position and the supplied hardware.
Approve the individual packing and the final artwork version.
Confirm any documentation required for the destination and intended use.
